Sadly, we have some bad news to return on the Siren front today. Just last week there was a Romanian PlayStation 4 press release that seemed to indicate that a new game in the Siren series would be coming to the PlayStation 4 in the future. However, that listing was a mistake according to Sony.
When the original press release came out, Keiichiro Toyama, the director of each previous Siren game, was asked if he knew anything, which he said he did not. At the time, this was thought to possibly just be a smokescreen, but that does not appear to be the case any longer. IGN asked Sony about this listing and got the following response:
The listing for Siren was a mistake, it should have listed Rime. Siren was the working title name for Rime prior to its announcement at Gamescom 2013.
This is quite disappointing news for fans of the Siren series, but perhaps we will get another entry in that series sometime in the near future.
