Everyone knows by now that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a prologue that will be released by itself on March 18, 2014. However, one piece of information that was not known is why there is a difference of $10 in the price of the retail and digital copies of the game, with the retail costing more. Now, it has been confirmed that the reason for the higher cost in retail is the addition of bonus content compared to the digital download.
When Ground Zeroes launches in March, you will be able to purchase the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version for $39.99 retail or $29.99 digitally. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version will be a bit cheaper at $29.99 retail or $19.99 digitally.
Many wondered what the reason for this was, which led to Steve Kay, the European Brand Manager for Kojima Productions, being asked on his Twitter if the reason for the higher retail price was additional content. Kay’s response was “Yes, they will do. We’ll be announcing soon.”
