Gran Turismo 6 started off quite poorly in the UK as its sales were far lower than expected.
UK Chart-Track has revealed that Gran Turismo 6’s sales were only a fifth of the number of copies Gran Turismo 5 sold in its first week. The game only debuted at Number 8 on the all formats chart. Gran Turismo couldn’t beat the sales from other popular franchises such as Call of Duty: Ghosts and Grand Theft Auto V just to name a few.
Bear in mind, these figures might be a bit unfair to judge right now. Gran Turismo 6 came out on a Friday while Gran Turismo 5 came out on a Wednesday. Not to mention Gran Turismo 5 didn’t come out right after the release of the PS4 and Xbox One.
Gran Turismo 5 eventually went on to sell over 10 million copies worldwide. Will Gran Turismo 6 see an increase in sales, or was the game released at a bad time?
