Apologies and promises are seemingly what EA DICE is supplying gamers with instead of fixes and vital Battlefield 4 updates.
Battlefield 4 has certainly come under fire form a lot of gamers for being flawed and hasn’t, in the slightest, proved to gamers that EA can truly take on the Call of Duty franchise. Many bugs, from game breaking to game crashing, have been discovered and DICE is taking a lot of time to fix them.
Despite releasing the China Rising DLC to Premium Members yesterday, EA has confirmed that they will not release further planned Battlefield 4 expansions until the vital updates and patches have been released. Timing wise the announcement is bizarre. In the same week as this announcement, as well as releasing a DLC package, EA has delayed a patch for the PS4 one shot kill bug. Perhaps it is a good plan that comes at a bad time. EA had this to say on the matter:
First, we want to thank the fans out there that are playing and supporting us with Battlefield 4. We know we still have a ways to go with fixing the game – it is absolutely our #1 priority. The team at DICE is working non-stop to update the game. Since Battlefield 4 China Rising expansion pack was already in the final stages of development by the time issues began with Battlefield 4, we decided to fulfill our promise to deliver it this week, but we’re not moving onto future projects or expansions until we sort out all the issues with Battlefield 4. We know many of our players are frustrated, and we feel your pain. We will not stop until this is right.
