Dark Souls II is not even out yet, but the game’s producer is already talking about the future. In an interview with EDGE, game producer Takeshi Miyazoe explained that that there would be no DLC after the launch of the the game this coming March.
While the first game had DLC after the launch, Miyazoe believes that gamers should get the full game on day one.
For Dark Souls 2, we don’t even expect any additional downloadable content because we want to deliver a full game, the full experience, to fans who purchase the package from day one. We did do additional content for Dark Souls, but generally downloadable content for Dark Souls II is not really being considered. Buy the package and you’ll get the full experience, and you’ll have as much fun as anybody else
Also on the subject of DLC, Miyazoe discussed that he doesn’t believe that spending a few dollars on different items makes it worth it, and even says that “no free-to-play yet” as a result.
You can pick up Dark Souls II on March 14, 2014 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A PC version will be coming sometime after.
