To be honest, there wasn’t many PS4 launch titles to choose from since Knack was the only other option when it came to retail PS4 exclusives. Out of the two games, Killzone: Shadow Fall is the better game to get and it looks great.
Killzone: Shadow Fall is without a doubt the best looking PS4 game out there. Knack looks good too, although Killzone: Shadow Fall had more open level design. Not to mention it truly showed what a next-gen game should really look like. Most of the other third-party games I played on PS4 looked almost identical to the current-gen versions…
In terms of gameplay, Killzone: Shadow Fall isn’t the best FPS game out there but it tries its best to stay unique. My favorite feature of the game is when you can control the OWL. The OWL can be used to help you shoot enemies or as a grappling hook. The OWL can even revive you when you get hit. The OWL made the gameplay less generic than most other FPS games I’ve played.
If you own a PS4, Killzone: Shadow Fall is a game you should get. It looks wonderful and the gameplay is somewhat enjoyable.
For Killzone fans who bought the PlayStation 4, getting Killzone: Shadow Fall is one of the games you should definitely pick up as it’s one of the strongest launch titles for the system. Comparing Shadow Fall to other Killzone games in the series, the game has bigger and better maps even though there are design flaws here and there. When it comes to breaking boundaries and offering something new to the genre, this is where the game falls short.
