The live streaming aspect of the PlayStation 4 was one of its best selling points, but no one really knew how well it would be utilized until release. With the Share Button right there on the controller, it is obviously meant to be an integral part of the system. However, gamers have now lost one aspect of it, the PS4 Playroom, due to misuse.
Through Twitch, gamers were able to stream their gameplay, including the system’s AR app, the PS4 Playroom. That is no longer the case as the PS4 Playroom streaming option has been removed from Twitch’s directory after misuse since launch. Joystiq spoke with Twitch about why this feature was removed already.
We removed Playroom content from the directory because a majority of it was non-gaming related. We will look into adding it back as PS4 owners become more familiar with the games-only focus of Twitch content. In the meantime, you can view all of the amazing gameplay from PS4 broadcasters in this directory page on Twitch.
While the terms say the streams must be gaming related and that is their reasoning for the removal, it is more likely due to the strip shows and the like done through the service since launch of the PlayStation 4.
