Super Smash Bros. has been constantly adding new images to the official website every weekday for quite awhile now. However, there has been one stage that has been hinted at numerous times through zoomed in pictures. That stage has finally been confirmed, as expected, as one based off of Super Mario Galaxy.
This time around, Masahiro Sakurai decided on showing a stage that was highly requested due to the love for the Galaxy series. Usually we only get one picture a day, unless it’s a new character, but this time around we got two. The caption posted to the first image on Miiverse says “Pic of the day. A new stage, Mario Galaxy!! The pull of gravity emanates from the center of the planet, so this will require using brand-new tactics.” The second pic’s caption added a little insight into those tactics. “Here’s what happens when you stand by the edges. Vertical jumps and getting hit upward will shoot you up diagonally.”
The timing of this level is interesting with Super Mario 3D World releasing just next week. With her unveiling in the Super Mario 3D World trailer just a few days ago, could the highly fan requested Rosalina be announced for Super Smash Bros. soon? We will have to stay tuned to find out.
