Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced the 18 PlayStation 4 entertainment apps that will be available in parts of Europe.
There are a range of apps which are only available in certain countries, such as BBC iPlayer which is only available the UK or Total Channel which is only available in Spain. Sony have said alongside the announcement that “the services and apps available on PS4 make it a central home entertainment hub”. Almost challenging Microsoft’s position as the console which offers a rounded entertainment package, if not now, perhaps in Spring 2014 when extra apps are added this will be the case. Sony has also confirmed that PlayStation 4 gamers will not need PlayStation Plus to use these apps.
