Gamers who are looking forward to getting into the next-generation of gaming, one of their options for this year is the PlayStation 4.
With the Holiday season finally started, it’s time to get those gifts ready. With a plethora of launch games that PS4 had and accessories that are now available, it’s hard to figure out just what kind of games caters to a certain audience. If you are planning to give a certain individual a gift and don’t know what they would want, check out our Holiday Gift guide for the PlayStation 4.
Console – $399.99
With the majority of the big retailers starting their Black Friday sales as early as 6PM, those who cannot get a PS4 at launch should definitely try to get one today as stores like Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Toys R Us have pretty much restocked their supplies. If you end up getting one tonight, your purchase will net you a PS4 console, a DUALSHOCK 4 controller, HDMI cable, voucher codes for a free $10 PSN credit, 30 Day PS Plus Trial and a 30 Day Music Unlimited Subscription.
PlayStation Plus – $49.99
Along with the purchase of the PlayStation 4, you will also get a free 30 day trial with it. Those who will be playing online multiplayer games, a PlayStation Plus subscription is now required. Luckily, it’s much cheaper than Xbox Live and yes, there are sales tonight that will allow you to get $29.99. Check out other stores like GameStop, Best Buy, and Walmart for the 1 Year subscription for only $29.99.
PlayStation Camera – $59.99
The PlayStation 4 has an optional Camera that you can buy. With this Camera, games like Just Dance 2014 will allow you to play the game with much more precision. Compared to the PS Eye Camera that was released on the PS3, the PS4 Camera is a lot better as it now accepts voice commands and gestures.
Killzone: Shadow Fall (Shooter Fans) – $59.99
For shooter fans who are fond of games like Call of Duty or Battlefield, one of the exclusive titles that you can get for the PS4 is Killzone: Shadow Fall. Gamers looking forward to seeing what a next-gen PS4 games is going to look like, Killzone: Shadow Fall will exactly show that. With immersive gameplay and a top notch story, what you ask for in a shooting game can be found in this game. Not to mention Warzones in multiplayer portion of the game is uber fun.
Call of Duty: Ghosts (Shooter Fans) – $59.99
The king of first person shooters is one of the games that is available on the next-gen platform. If you love Call of Duty games and wanting to play it on the PS4, Ghosts is a must buy to any Call of Duty fan. Offering intense gameplay and a very fun multiplayer, COD fans will surely be pleased in this title.
Battlefield 4 (Shooter Fans) – $59.99
If you don’t like Call of Duty games but love first person shooter games, another game that I recommend getting on the PS4 is Battlefield 4. Compared to Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 gives players an opportunity to experience true next-gen graphics. From its multiplayer to its intense single-player, what you will see in terms of visuals will blow you away. As for gameplay, it’s short but very sweet since it’s memorable and fun. Did I mention a 64 player conquest is possible?
Knack (Family) – $59.99
From the twenty-two launch titles of the PlayStation 4, one game that I recommend for kids to play is Knack. If you are a veteran gamer buying this for a little kid, you will surely enjoy this game as it offers fun gameplay that is suited for younger audiences. With its Pixar-like graphics and intriguing storyline, this is one of those games that will really interest younger audiences.
Resogun (Arcade) – $19.99
If you redeem that PlayStation Plus trial on the PlayStation Store, one of the games you will be able to get for free is Resogun. For those who played Super Stardust Delta on the PS Vita, they will feel right at home with Resogun as its gameplay is somewhat similar. This game is not intense or any sort of serious as it simply just a game that allows you relax as you save humans and shoot other things in this arcade-type game.
NBA 2K14 (Sports) – $59.99
Love Basketball games? Good! If you are looking for a basketball game for your newly bought next-gen console, the game that you must definitely get is NBA 2K14. With the most lifelike graphics and gameplay, NBA 2K14 provides the best basketball experience on the next generation PlayStation 4. Especially since many, including us, didn’t like how NBA Live 14 turned out, your best bet is NBA 2K14.
Madden NFL 25 (Sports) – $59.99
Of course with it being Thanksgiving today, we almost have to recommend a football game, and your only option on the PlayStation 4 is Madden NFL 25. Don’t take that to mean that this isn’t a good game, as that is far from the truth. The version we reviewed on the Xbox 360 this year was excellent and the next generation version includes a brand new physics engine that should improve the experience ever further.
