There were huge and exciting rumors created that Sony bought back Crash Bandicoot. Sadly, it’s not true.
Activision confirmed to Game Informer they still own Crash Bandicoot:
Activision owns Crash Bandicoot and we continue to explore ways in which we could bring the beloved series back to life.
This is slightly disappointing considering Activision has not released a Crash game since 2008. Since then, there has been not hints of a new game whatsoever. Not to mention Crash’s more recent games weren’t very good…
Hopefully one day Sony will buy back the license and return the series to its roots.
