Wii Party came out in 2010 as a fun alternative to the Mario Party series, which was somewhat stagnant at the time. It worked very well with motion controls and provided a fun time with a group of friends. Then Wii Party U was announced, which looks like the original, but with the added in element of the GamePad as well as the Wii Remote. Today, we have a new trailer straight from Nintendo showing off some of the new mini-games in Wii Party U.
The trailer truly shows off the wackiness of the series with mini-games ranging from driving helicoptors to racing while riding animals you would find in a zoo. We see great use of the GamePad with a foosball like game with two players each holding one side of the GamePad and using the controls to play. The trailer also advertises the retail package of the game that comes with a Wii Remote Plus bundled inside.
Wii Party U will be released for the Wii U on October 25. Check out the new trailer below:
