Just like Final Fantasy V, that came out for Android recently and iOS earlier in the year, Final Fantasy VI will also be seeing a release on both Android and iOS later this year.
This news was unveiled by Square Enix producer Takashi Tokita at a presentation, where he said that the game is pretty much like a remake of the original with some new enhancements. Kotaku spoke with Tokita at the event where he went into further detail on the game.
The battle systems have been altered for the other [mobile remakes] for Final Fantasy and VI will be the same. For instance grinding was an issue and people had to spend a lot of time leveling up. Now on the mobile devices the battle systems have been adjusted so you don’t have to fight as much and can enjoy the game for what it is.
Tokita ended his talk with Kotaku by hinting at the possibility of Final Fantasy VII being worked on for mobile devices if this release is very successful.
