Just a week after announcing a delay to Retro Studios’ upcoming Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Nintendo has posted a brand new trailer to their Youtube account. This trailer specifically focuses on the return of Dixie Kong to the fray.
While Dixie Kong was previously announced, this is the first trailer for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze almost exclusively dedicated to showing off her gameplay. She was only seen working with Donkey Kong, which is actually a first in the series. I still do hope it will be possible to use Diddy and Dixie together like in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong’s Quest, but the lack of this in the new trailer makes me think it won’t happen.
The trailer also shows the return of the very difficult rocket barrel levels as well as an absolutely gorgeous looking underwater level. It did a very good job at making me even more disappointed that we will have to wait a little longer for the game’s release now in February.
