Mario Party: Island Tour is the next edition in the long running Mario Party franchise, but only the third time on a handheld. However, some bad news was released for the upcoming title today. The Nintendo 3DS title will not include online multiplayer action, which is different from some of the other Mario spinoff games for the Nintendo 3DS.
Games like Mario Kart 7 and Mario Tennis Open, both games for the Nintendo 3DS, featured online gameplay that allowed for a lot more longevity and fun to the titles. Mario Party: Island Tour has decided instead to go against this, which could be due to length of games and lag in mini-games, but you would think they could have figured something out to have included it. While the game won’t have online play, it does allow for local multiplayer with only one card through the use of Download Play.
Mario Party: Island Tour features 80 mini-games and will be released on November 22 for the Nintendo 3DS.
