EA DICE has posted on Twitter that players will receive double XP on Battlefield 3 today.
This is most likely for players to polish up their Battlefield skills in preparation for the upcoming release of Battlefield 4. Until then, players will have to make do with Battlefield 3 for their daily fix. To help with the addiction, check out this teaser video below of a helicopter strafing run in Battlefield 4. Battlefield 4 is scheduled for release on the 29th of October 2013 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox one.
