We have some bad news for fans of the Command & Conquer series as the free-to-play title that was being worked out has been officially cancelled by EA. On top of that, Victory Studios, who has been working on the game, is being shut down.
The game was originally known as Command & Conquer Generals 2 before being rebranded as just Command & Conquer and becoming free-to-play. Over the last few months, the company has been holding alpha tests for the game, but now that is obviously coming to an end. Victory Studios has said “Your feedback from the alpha trial is clear: We are not making the game you want to play. That is why, after much difficult deliberation, we have decided to cease production of this version of the game.”
For anybody that has participated in the alpha tests and spent any money, Victory Studios says they will be refunding it within the next 10 days, so keep a look out if you are expecting any refunds.
