Since the Wii U’s debut last November, the Miiverse has been one of the more talked about things that people enjoy about the console. However, there was always the problem that you could only post messages to specific communities dedicated to individual games or franchises. With the new update to Nintendo’s version of a social network, now you can post things directly to your own Activity Feed, friend’s Activity Feeds, as well as to your followers.
While the old system was tied to each individual game, the new change makes it apparent that Nintendo wants to make their system more like a social network to compete with upcoming next gen features seen on the Playstation 4. Anyone can see the posts you make on individual game communities, while your Activity Feed can only be seen by your friends and followers on the Wii U.
Nintendo has gradually been tinkering with Miiverse such as the doubling of the post character limit in the past. The goal is to release Miiverse on mobile devices and the Nintendo 3DS in the near future. I look forward to having this and really hope to see Miiverse pick up with more consoles sold as a result of the price cut and upcoming big titles this holiday season.

September 12, 2013 at 3:11 AMMiiverse is already available on any device that sports a web browser. A dedicated app will be great once it arrives.
Anyway, I’m liking all the updates they’ve brought to the service. It’s improved and grown a lot since launch.
