Today sees the release of the first major Total War: Rome 2 beta patch, with the standard release to follow next week.
The full list of fixes can be found here, but a few highlights are:
- Campaign AI round time improvements (greatest effect during early game).
- Reduced infantry run speed, charge speed and acceleration in battles.
- The low level casualty moral penalties have been significantly reduced in battles.
Those last two should mean that the very fast combat we see in the launch version of Rome 2 has been slowed at least a little. If you’re interested I suggest you check the full list as there really are too many fixes to list here. If you want to install the beta patch (which is done at your own risk with the understanding that it will likely introduce at least a few new bugs) then you will need to opt-in by right-clicking the game on Steam then hitting properties, then the beta tab and selecting patch2beta from the drop-down box.
