With the PlayStation 4 coming in less than two months, a lot of curious gamers are wondering how will the PS3 to PS4 upgrade work?
Today, Sony shed out more details as to how the upgrade program will work. Those who will be picking up games like Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs, and Call of Duty: Ghost will have an opportunity to upgrade their PS3 copy to a PS4 for both retail and digital.
To play the digital PS4 version of an eligible retail PS3 game, players must redeem a code on the PlayStation Store and insert the PS3 disc into the PS4. Eligible retail PS3 games that participate in the upgrade program will come with a voucher code inside the box. This code can only be used one time.
As for those who will purchase the eligible PS3 digital games on the PlayStation Store, no code will be required to upgrade to PS4. As soon as the gamer purchases the digital version, a PS4 version will be visible on the Download List section on your PlayStation Store.
