The first Fable game was released for the original Xbox and PC way back in 2004 to much critical acclaim. The game was then re-released a year later in an expanded on edition known as Fable: The Lost Chapters, also for Xbox and PC. It was announced earlier this year that Fable: The Lost Chapters would be receiving an HD re-release for Xbox 360 known as Fable Anniversary that would be coming out later this year. However, it was announced today that the game would be receiving a bit of a delay.
In a blog on Lionhead Studios‘ website, Lead Designer Ted Timmins announced that the title would now be released in February 2014 rather than later this year. The blog post did not give any specific details on the reason for the delay other than to say “we need a little more time in order to meet our ambitions and give you, the fans, the best game possible.”
Timmins did go on to say that the game would be released in both retail and online when it releases in February. He was very apologetic in his blog post and says that due to the delay they will be posting more screenshots, game footage, and even some possibly top secret announcements over the coming weeks.
Fable Anniversary will not only be remastering the graphics to HD, but will also be updating the user interface, controls, loading times, and save system among other things.
