The return to a similar style and world from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past caught most people by surprise. The shock continued when it was announced recently that while the game shared a very similar overworld, the game was set much further in the future with a completely different Link. Thanks to GameXplain on Youtube, we now have a side-by-side comparison of the original A Link to the Past world to the new overworld from The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
The new game appears to be very similar when watching side-by-side, with a few extra enemies added here and there. One of the key differences that can be seen in the video is that a bridge appears to be missing in the new version. The question is whether it is permanently gone or if you may have to do something new to get it to appear this time. It was said in the most recent Nintendo Direct that the light world would be almost exactly the same, while the dark world would be almost like a completely new area.
We will likely see more similarities and changes in upcoming gameplay videos, but we won’t truly know everything until The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds releases this November for Nintendo 3DS. Check out the comparison video by GameXplain below:
