The Nintendo system exclusive Sonic: The Lost World has been a game of interest for many since its unveiling in May during a Nintendo Direct. With gameplay appearing to be a good mix of both 2D and 3D platforming, similar to that of the well received Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations, Sonic fans have really been dying for more information on the upcoming release. Today, a new gameplay video for the Wii U version of Sonic: The Lost World was released online that was first shown at the Summer of Sonic Convention, which took place over the weekend.
The desert level shows both 2D platforming, similar to that of the classic Sonic games, and 3D platforming, with a level that looks similar to Super Mario 64’s Shifting Sand Land. The game has already been jokingly mentioned to be a Sonic version of Super Mario Galaxy, which the game’s producer even agreed with while still saying that the game was distinctly its own. The forest level continues this thought of the game having some elements similar to the Galaxy series, with the addition of Sonic’s signature rails.
Sega’s Sonic: The Lost World will be available on October 22 for both Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Check out the new gameplay video below:
