While we have been told by Masahiro Sakurai in the past that the character roster for the two versions would have the same fighters, rather than there being console or handheld exclusive characters. He said he wants consumers to have the same character experience with both versions of the game. However, since we got our first glimpse of the game during the Nintendo Direct around E3, we have yet to see an footage of the newcomers Wii Fit Trainer or Villager on Nintendo 3DS version of the new Super Smash Bros. Now we do courtesy of a new screenshot from the official Super Smash Bros. website and the Miiverse.
The screenshot features the two fighters posing beside each other in what appears to be right before the start of a fight. Along with the picture on the Miiverse, Sakurai also said “I guess we haven’t shown the Villager or the Wii Fit Trainer on the 3DS until now. By the way, their outlines can be made thinner or made to disappear completely.” This news of being able to make the outlines thinner or remove them completely is an interesting addition to the game. It allows for a further level of customization in your handheld experience with the game.
Stay tuned to the official website and Super Smash Bros. Miiverse for daily updates on the upcoming game.
