Similar to the announcement for Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts earlier today, EA and DICE have unveiled a carry-over system between the current-gen and next-gen versions of the upcoming Battlefield 4.
This allows for all the stats, rewards, unlocks, assignments, and rank that players have to carry over from the current-gen versions on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 to next-gen versions on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The only stipulation is that you are only able to carry these over from Playstation 3 to Playstation 4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One. You can’t go from Playstation to Xbox or vice versa. EA released a statement explaining the reasoning for this addition:
Whether you are playing on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, we want to make your transition to next generation consoles easy. That is why today we are informing the devoted Battlefield community that all the time and effort you spend building up your Battlefield 4 stats will carry over when you upgrade from the Xbox 360 to Xbox One and from the PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4.
EA and DICE also confirmed that Battlefield 4 would see the return of Premium Memberships, which will also transfer from current-gen to next-gen versions of the game. More news is expected on the upcoming release at GamesCom next week.
Battlefield 4 will be available October 29 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, with a later release date for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
