Arma 3 has been available to purchase for a while now under the Steam Early Access scheme, but it is soon to leave the beta stage and go on to full release.
The most noticeable addition for players of the early access version will be the game’s main island Altis, which is huge at 270 square kilometres next to the only currently available island Stratis which is just 20 square kilometres. The full release will not feature a singleplayer campaign, with that instead to be released for free in episodic chunks one per month for the three months after release.
Despite not having a singleplayer campaign the game will feature plenty of content with 12 singleplayer showcases, 3 faction showcases, 9 multiplayer scenarios, 10 firing drill challenges and of course the mission editor to make your own missions, so there will surely be a wealth of extra player-made content before long. The beta is still available right now directly from Steam or via Bohemia Interactive‘s own site for £29.99, €34.99 or $44.99 dependent on region, with the full release on 12th September.
