For fans who have enjoyed ZombiU on the Nintendo Wii U and are anticipating for a sequel, prepare to be disappointed as there will be no ZombiU sequel happening.
According to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, ZombiU made no money. Yep, ZombiU failed on the Nintendo Wii U and it did not become profitable to the company. The result of ZombiU not selling well on the Nintendo Wii U also lead to the final decision of Ubisoft making Rayman Legends multiplatform after the abysmal sale of ZombiU on the Nintendo Wii U.
For us, it’s surprising to see ZombiU fail as it was one of the worthy launch title the Nintendo Wii U had. However, with the poor sales of the Nintendo Wii U, we somewhat understand why the game did not meet the sales expectations of Ubisoft. Maybe if they made ZombiU available on other platform beside Nintendo Wii U, the game could’ve been a success but unfortunately, the poor sales of the Wii U clearly hurt the game.

July 8, 2013 at 9:20 PMThis is also mostly the reason why big 3rd party developers dont want to develop for the consoles, they are geared towards sales and adults. Wii U lacks that, and is a horrible device for those companies to make games for. Nintendo’s only selling points are the first party games, and thats how it will be forever down the road, and Nintendo makes great games.

July 8, 2013 at 10:17 PMYou know…ZombiU sold like crap because there have been 8.3 million zombie games released over the past decade – most of them in the past ~3-5 years.
Instead of launching the WiiU with something like Watch_Dogs, Ubisoft decided to focus on one of the lamest, overdone type of game in recent years. Shocker.
