Don Mattrick, head of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business, is being reported as stepping down from his position to align himself with new interests. The Interactive Entertainment Business side of Microsoft is known for its work on the Xbox division, particularly with the upcoming Xbox One console.
According to All Things D, Mattrick resigned from his position at Microsoft to pursue other ventures with social media magnate Zynga. Whether this will be an executive position on the board or another high ranking position is still to be determined. Not much is know regarding what sparked Don Mattrick’s transition away from Microsoft, but a change in leadership between the two companies could hint at a stronger business partnership between the two companies in the future.
