Earlier this year, people were up in arms with the fact that SimCity was an always online game. Maxis could be considering an offline mode after all.
The developer said in many interviews before that “their vision” for SimCity was to make it a social experience and adding an offline mode wasn’t possible. Many people fobbed this off as usual “PR” talk.
A survey has been published online by a user on Reddit. One of the questions asked in the survey asks people about an offline mode feature and more.
The survey question reads as:
Classic Mode: “In offline or online mode, play a single functioning city using cheats and unlocks allowing you to create the perfect city”.
SimCity came out earlier this March and many people hated the always-online requirement because the servers couldn’t handle the demand. I’m guessing after months of negative feedback, an offline mode will make some fans more happy.
