With Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn launching in roughly a month, Square Enix will be doing one last beta phase pretty soon, which will be an open beta to those who have registered.
For people who still have not registered or submitted an application yet, tomorrow, July 22nd is the last day to do so to be eligible in the beta phase 4. As we reported several weeks ago, the progress that you make in beta phase 4 will most likely carry over to the live servers when it launches on August 27th. Those who participated in beta phase 3 will be disappointed to know that their progress will be wiped out at the beginning of the final phase.
Here’s the information Square Enix released via their Lodestone site:
For those of you who have not yet applied for the Beta Test, please submit your application by Monday, July 22, 2013 (PDT).
Application Period:
Until Monday, July 22, 2013 (PDT)
* On the above date and time, the Beta Tester Application Site will be temporarily closed and will reopen when Beta Test phase 4(final Beta Test) begins.Registration Period:
Until Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 9:59 p.m. (PDT)
* If your beta code has not been registered by the above date and time, you will need to resubmit your application at the Beta Tester Application Site once Beta Test phase 4 begins.
Participants of beta phase 3 will have to reinstall the client when beta phase 4 launches in the coming days or weeks.
There you have it folks! Beta phase 4 is almost upon us! Who’s excited?

July 22, 2013 at 6:09 PMSo if we were in the FFXIV: ARR closed beta do we have to re-register or are we good to go as soon as Phase 4 starts? Also any idea if there will be a new download, I deleted the previous one. I read I believe on the FFXIV: ARR Lodestone you were supposed to but if not I can always re-download it.

July 22, 2013 at 11:43 PMAlright thanks, any idea if we have to re-register? I did just in case but me & a few friends are just curious as they aren’t sure & they did not.

July 23, 2013 at 3:04 AMBeen trying for months to get into beta test for this on PS3, and was never notified it was in beta until it was too late, even when signing up with Square. If I do not get into Phase 4 I will not buy it. No warning on signing up for P4 either. I had got a code for PS3 through Square via email 3 weeks before P3 ended, didn’t work, contacted Square and they said sorry, couldn’t help.
So… At this point, I do not know if I will shell out money to them for this thing.

July 23, 2013 at 1:42 PMSam,
if you are Canadian, the code doesn’t work unless the ps3 account you’re registering with is a US acct. I had to create a new ps3 user and PS account but said I was in US for me to be able to register and download the game for PS3. The you can link the square enix account with any of the users; make sure it is the one you want, it cannot be undone; as all users on the ps3 can then access the game (really annoying but it worked)
Hope that helps come phase 4 if they haven’t sorted that out yet.

July 23, 2013 at 3:49 PMStill no real answer on the “re-register” ordeal. We seem to be on the same page about having to download a new client, but will there need to be a new code, and an new application, for the Open Beta Phase 4? Thanks for the time, and answers.

July 23, 2013 at 4:05 PMYou don’t have to re-register. As SE stated, if you’ve been accepted in beta phase 3, just wait for your email again letting you know that it’s good to play phase 4.
