When the Xbox One was revealed, it was obviously an unpopular machine because it prevented people from renting games. Gamefly is now happy Microsoft has backtracked and will allow Xbox One games to be rented after all.
“I always felt good about the future of GameFly, but I feel better today,” said Sean Spector, GameFly co-founder and SVP of business development and content. “Today is a win/win for consumers, as well as GameFly. I think choice is always important and now consumers have more choice. And I give [Microsoft] credit for listening to their consumers.”
Spector is now happy that it’s “business as usual“. He feared not only for Gamefly, but other people’s business systems as well if Microsoft went forward with the Xbox One’s initial policies.
He concluded by saying it’s “a good day for gamers!” Gamefly will now offer listings for both PS4 and Xbox One games at a later date.
