EA Sports and FIFA have today announced the extension of the licensing agreement between the two companies.
The agreement means that EA retains the rights to exclusively release FIFA brands football titles until 2022. EA therefore can release the same plethora of football titles as it has been over the last few years; including the regular yearly instalments, Street titles and World Cup themed games.
The Head of EA Sports, Andrew Wilson, released the following statement to go alongside the news of the licensing extension: “EA SPORTS released the first FIFA branded football game in 1993, and 20 years later our partnership with FIFA continues to be very strong. Our franchise has become the benchmark for quality and innovation in the sports videogame genre, and we look forward to many more years of connecting with consumers around the world with our games carrying the prestigious FIFA name.”
Naturally we are all looking forward to the next instalment of FIFA from EA Sports later this year. Check back with Just Push Start to keep up to date with all FIFA 14 news.
