According to a report from Unigamesity, the price of two Activision games have increased to a ridiculously high level in the country of Brazil.
Fast and Furious: Showdown is retailing for R$159,99 which equates to $80 USD. As for the Deadpool game releasing in June, that game will cost R$179,99 which is $90 USD. Most video games in USA only cost $60 USD.
Unigamesity says that high prices for video games in Brazil is common, although they feel this is an odd move from Activision. This is because the country has a high piracy rate of 59%. It does not make sense that Activision wants to increase the price of games since this is likely to increase the piracy rate too.
The biggest mystery for me is why would Activision charge so much for a game like Fast and Furious: Showdown? That game is beyond horrible…
