The Monster Hunter franchise is usually mega popular in Japan. It seems as if UK gamers love the series enough to buy a Wii U console to play it.
Since the Wii U console launched late last year, sales for the console in the UK had been slow. Even with retailers lowering the price, this didn’t do much to increase sales.
UK retailers are now happy to report that Wii U sales have increased by a whole 125% thanks to the release of Monster Hunter 3. The UK isn’t the only country seeing an increase in Wii U sales. Nintendo France confirmed that sales of the console tripled following the release of Monster Hunter 3.
This is an obvious indication to Nintendo that gamers will buy the Wii U if a quality exclusive is released. Hopefully Sony will notice this too with the lack of support the PS Vita is currently having. If a great PS Vita exclusive is released, we may see an increase of PS Vita console sales too.
