NOTs
Not Addictive
The game is fun to play but with its hectic nature and simple game mechanics, gamers will still be able to put the controller down. Dollar Dash is a game that you could play every day of the week but just not for hours each day. Being enjoyable to play gamers will come back to play it but there is not a major feature to keep gamers addicted for hours upon hours, rather than just for an hour at a time.
No-one Online
The A.I bots do a great job of offering players a fun offline experience. The local coop options mean that players do get to battle their friends but there is nothing better than competing against players from around the world. This is unfortunately where the problem starts. Currently the community for Dollar Dash is too small and while I’m sure it will grow there just are not enough people online. I truly hope this changes in the near future as against real players the game is more enjoyable.
Stun Issue
While the A.I. bots don’t seem to exploit the stun function players could. When stunned the player’s character is momentarily knocked to the floor. When the player comes round from the stun the character stands up from the floor and can then instantly be re-stunned. This could mean that with ease two players working together could keep someone stunned for an entire match with little effort. By giving characters that have just been stunned a few seconds to move, whilst being invincible to stuns, this problem would be solved.
Verdict
Everything adds together in Dollar Dash to make it an overall fun experience. Its cartoony style, comic weapons and simple gameplay mean that, whether it is minutes you play or hours, Dollar Dash is a title that you will enjoy. The biggest issue that Dollar Dash faces is the lack of players when it comes to the online aspect. The game is enjoyable against the AI bots, but competing against people from around the world gives matches that extra edge. Hopefully the community will grow so this game can fulfill its potential.
