#1- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
For more than two decades, the Castlevania series has been one of those iconic franchises that has been well known for side-scrolling adventure. After years of staying in that genre, Mercury Steam and Kojima Production teamed up together to give the series a major reboot and turn that side scrolling adventure into a game similar to the liking of the God of War series. Going back to the roots of Dracula, Mercury Steam did a good job in expanding the lore of the series and changing its combat system to a much more enjoyable one. With deep narrative and heavy emphasize on combos and attacks, Lords of Shadow turned out to be one of the best reboots of this generation.
