Forge Items / Armors/ and Weapons
Remember the items that you loot and pick up during the missions? Now, some of them will be useful when forging, upgrading your armors and weapons. For every item that you would like to forge via the Blacksmith in Moga Village, he will ask you for items that he needs. The items will all come from the items you can loot in the mission area.
Hunt Down Big Monsters for Armors
At certain points in the missions that you do, there will be a time where the guild will task you to hunt for bigger monsters. Assuming you are ready and you’ve killed the big monster that you are tasked to kill, you then can ask the Blacksmith in Moga Village to craft you a much stronger and powerful weapon designed by the monster you just slayed. There are a lot of monsters that you can hunt in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and for every time you take them down and loot them, you can have a full set of weapons/armors designed from them.
Make the Most of Resources
In addition to killing monsters for resources, you can also get a number of important materials via Moga village. There are two ways of going about this, which include farming for supplies/sending a boat out for supplies or simply killing threatening monsters near the village. One of the best ways to rack up points is by killing monsters, since they will gradually get rise in power with you and offer a huge payoff. Even low tier monsters like the Great Jaggi can offer 150 p, plus a number of bonus materials. These can be used to upgrade the town (offering you better farmable materials) or simply trade for items you may desire.
Customize your Touchscreen
As you should already know, the 3DS/Wii U both have an additional touchscreen interface that offer a few additional commands in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. At first they’re pretty standard options, like lock on, D pad, items, but you also have the option to customize these inputs too. To do this, simply push start and then select “customize panels”. Here you will see a bunch of options, which might serve you better in the long run. Like if you don’t like the D pad, you can swap it out for a map or item quick select. Even a small change can make a big difference on the field, so make sure you put your best foot forward!
Ask for Help
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is a hard game and there will be times you will seek for help. If that’s the case, you can always look for the Neko by the harbor in Moga Village to get you connected to thousands of players who will be playing the game. Through online play, up to four players can team up in slaying down monsters.
