With the delay of Grand Theft Auto V being pushed back until September 17th, many rumors surfaced on the internet about reasons for this. Rockstar has commented about these “conspiracy theories”.
The most popular belief about the delay is that Rockstar is planning to port the game on the PC and Wii U. Gamespot tweeted that the company has “nothing new” to share about it. The PS3 and Xbox 360 are the only confirmed platforms for the release of Grand Theft Auto V.
Another reason that surfaced about the delay is that the game will also be heading onto the next generation consoles. With the PS4 set to be announced later this month, many believe Sony is releasing the console at the end of this year.
Rockstar has commented on all the theories on its official website:
“To those of you saying or seeing various conspiracy theories about there being some other ulterior motive for this delay, rest assured that they’re all nonsense – literally the only reason we’ve delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be.”
It appears as if Rockstar simply delayed the game to polish up the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of the game.
