Activision CEO Robert Kotick commented during the post-earnings financial call today that he’s “somewhat disappointed” with the Wii U’s launch.
Kotick was asked about the sales potential for the Skylanders franchise on the Wii U. He said that the launch of the Wii U is “something we are concerned about.”
Activision might be expecting too much considering the console has already sold over 3 million units worldwide since November. This is on par with the original Wii which sold 3.19 million units around a similar time period.
We’ll have to wait and see about the console’s actual potential once the PS4 and Xbox 720 enters the market presumably by the end of this year.
