Nintendo has already released its Wii U console but many people are still waiting on the official announcements for the PS4 and Xbox 720. It appears as if Sony is waiting for Microsoft to announce its next generation console first.
Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai commented the following on The Times today:
“Why go first, when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?”
This is an interesting strategy from Sony, but it’s highly unlikely they can change much of the PS4’s specifications at this stage. Unless of course they’re waiting to see if Microsoft will implement the unpopular anti pre-owned games block to the Xbox 720. Let’s hope both consoles don’t do that and the rumors are true.
At this stage, Sony might make the announcement for its next console at E3 while Microsoft will have to make its announcement during a separate event.
