Since January 1st 2013, Australia can now stamp and receive games with an R18+ rating. The first game with the rating has now been revealed.
That honor belongs to Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge for the Nintendo Wii U. The Director of the Classification Board, Ms Lesley O’Brien made the announcement earlier today and the game will be labelled with ‘High impact bloody violence’.
Further description for the game reads:
“Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge contains violence that is high in impact because of its frequency, high definition graphics, and emphasis on blood effects.”
The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game were rated with only an MA15+ rating when they were released in early 2012. The Wii U version is more violent which is why it received the R18+ rating.
