A new Star Wars Battlefront game was apparently in the works back in 2010. The game was in development by Slant Six Games (Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City) and was due for release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 before LucasArts decided to cancel the project entirely.
Thanks to Siliconera, they’ve obtained concept art of what the game could have looked like. The official name for the game was being called “Star Wars Battlefront Online”. Judging from the artwork, it appears as if the Hoth battle from “The Empire Strikes Back” would have been added to the game yet again.
Hopefully Disney (who acquired LucasArts a few months ago) gives the green-light for another Battlefront game to be developed over the next few years. After all, there are three new Star Wars films coming out within the next decade or so.
