Google has released its annual report for the most searched and typed items of 2012. Although there was not a top 10 list for video games on a worldwide basis, there was a list for most games searched for USA gamers.
“Diablo 3” was the most searched item for video games and it was actually fifth in the overall category. If “Diablo III” was also counted, it may have even placed higher on the list.
There was a slight blunder in the report though. Google listed “WrestleMania XXVIII” as a video game. It was ninth on the video game list just ahead of “FIFA 13”. As most of you will know, WrestleMania XXVIII is a PPV event and not a video game. Maybe google was meant to put in “WWE ’13” instead?
Here is the top ten (nine) video games in 2012 searched on Google in the USA:
1 – Diablo 3
2 – Borderlands 2
3 – Mass Effect 3
4 – Halo 4
5 – Skyrim
6 – Black Ops 2
7 – Madden NFL 13
8 – Resident Evil 6
9 – WrestleMania XXVIII
10 – FIFA 13
