In today’s Nintendo Direct in Japan, details on the Nintendo ID has been revealed, where it will act as your ‘gamertag’ for the Wii U.
Instead of using Friend Codes to identify you are the user of the console/handheld, you will now be given a Nintendo Network ID where you can use it for the Wii U to video chat with other people, identify your Mii, and of course accessing the eShop channel. Also, one of the purpose of having the Network ID is that Nintendo is planning to bring the Nintendo Network on PCs and Smartphones, giving everyone the ability to access the eShop and the Miiverse.
Before you get to make your Nintendo Network ID, you will have to fill up necessary information like your date of birth, gender, email address and finally your password. Once everything is filled up, you’re ready to create your Nintendo ID and the customizing your Mii. For every Wii U console, gamers can create up to 12 user accounts.
