Sony has filed a new patent application that shows a new type of controller for the PS3.
As you can see from the image above, it will be a hybrid between a standard DualShock controller and a PlayStation Move. Sony filed the name “Hybrid Separable Motion Controller” back in May.
It appears you can split the controller in half. If you are old enough to remember, the design is not too dissimilar to an old PSOne controller called the “NeGcon” that Sony released back in the ’90s for use on driving games.
Sony has yet to officially announce the new controller. It will be interesting to see what type of games will utilize this specific controller…
