Ignoring the poor reception the game received from gamers and critics alike, EA’s Medal of Honor: Warfighter still managed to sell over 500,000 copies in its first week on sale.
This is according to estimates collated by VGChartz. The Xbox 360 version of the game accounted for 340,000 copies while the PS3 version sold around 310,000. It appears as if the PC version only sold 9000 copies although digital downloads for the game aren’t taken into account.
This may seem quite impressive considering how poor the game is, although EA should be disappointed considering its 2010 predecessor sold nearly double the amount of sales in its first week.
It’s unlikely the game will sell much more copies with other FPS games along the way with Halo 4, Black Ops II and even Far Cry 3 all coming out soon.
