Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimeb has confirmed with CNET in an interview that over 400,000 Wii U consoles have been sold in North America in its first week on sale.
Overall, Nintendo sold an impressive 1.2 million units of consoles overall. Even the original Wii console managed to still sell over 300,000 units last week. The Wii U console has been selling very sell with many retailers selling out of the console at a rapid pace.
Nintendo is trying its best to replenish retailers with more stock of the Wii U, although even then they are selling out immediately. The Wii U is being released in Europe, Australia and New Zealand later in the week.
