Borderlands 2
One of the biggest and most hyped games of 2012 was Borderlands 2. The follow up to the originally praised title comes through guns blazing without a doubt. With more loot and customization this time around, replay value is nearly endless. Borderlands 2 would be an ideal game for any RPG or shooter fan out there, especially if they are fans of a comical experience within their games. If they already have the game, they might be interested in receiving the season pass for the game, which includes two already released DLC packs, and two that will be coming in the near future. Journey
This year brought a game from Thatgamecompany named Journey. After being teased for quite some time, it was finally released and did not let down. Not only was it a truly unique and touching story, but it looked incredible as well. Though the price is a bit steep for the length of the game, it is a great experience especially, but not limited to the passive gamer in your life. Review
Sound Shapes
This addictive little PSN title is one that focuses on musical platforming. The visuals in the game are great, and are complimented by the wide variety of guess appearances and custom levels already available. Once you complete the main story path, the world is yours in that you are able to then create your own innovative levels. This game is ideal for the creative gamer in your life, as well as those who enjoy spunky platformers. Best of all, Sound Shapes is a cross-buy title, so in giving one version of the game, the gamer in your life will then receive both the Playstation 3 and the Playstation Vita version of the game, which makes you look all the better! Assassin’s Creed 3
Ubisoft returns yet again with a great title in the Assassin’s Creed series. Not only does it feel like what is the best title in the series thus far, but it brings forward amazing gameplay, a strong story, loads of content, and a beautiful world. This game would be ideal for most any games whether they are primarily a fan of shooters, platformers, or or anything really. Review
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Criterion takes another stab at the popular Need for Speed franchise and nails it. Most Wanted packs beautiful visuals, a great user interface, enjoyable gameplay, and loads of content into one big package. Though the Need for Speed series has not fully returned to its ideal roots, this is among the best experience that is available now, and is easily recommended for PS3 racing fans out there. Review
