While consumers have been complaining rather loudly since the release of the Playstation Vita that they wanted a price cut of some sort on the console, likely influenced by actions that of Nintendo with the 3DS, Sony has stood firm.
They have finally said that there will be a price cut coming in 2013, though the exact date has yet to be revealed. SCEE boss Fergai Gara in commenting on the matter said that the exact details, including price cut amount and timing are “still under discussion”. Guy told Eurogamer that “the question is not so much if, but when” the price cut will happen, and such remains a big question for the public.
Unfortunately, there wil be no price cut for the holidays, but Sony is said to be “work[ing] very hard with our retail partners to add value to the product to make it more compelling.”
