In a decision that may disappoint fans of the series, and the game Family Guy Back to the Multiverse, the developers on the game have recently said that the game will not feature online multiplayer.
The reason for this choice was explained with reasonable logic by Sandbox Strategies’ Bill Linn this year at Gamescom.
There is local [multiplayer], and four-player local at that. But it was one of those decisions that was made early on. It’s kind of a game where you end up griefing a lot, and you saw in the demo that you can do friendly fire, so if that happens, I kinda just want to reach over and punch you. I don’t want to be yelling into a headset, that’s no fun. It’s a game that perfect for enjoying with a friend on the couch
He did confirm that the game would not only feature the four-player local, but also two player co-op. At least the game will have something for those looking for some form of multiplayer when the game comes out.
